It is another fine day for moronic politicians in California. Today, they flat out announce what appears to be a write up for our favorite magazine The Onion. Unfortunately, they appear to serious about buying votes with carbon credit tax revenue! From the article:
When it comes to carbon, California legislators have a clear message for Congress and President Obama: Put a price on it, and give the money back to the people.
First off, we would like to remind these politicians that they do not need to wave their low IQ in front the public's face by pointing out they are trying to lobby a president who is leaving office in a few months. Thank you, we already knew you were complete idiots, which is why you went into politics in the first place. We do give you credit for the vote buying scheme with carbon tax revenue however. Camouflaging your banana republic vote buying as:
“We must leave this planet inhabitable for our children and grandchildren, so we must act now.”
Indeed we must. Buying off the votes of their parents to stay in office, instead of funding schools is really good for the kids. The kool aid gets much better later in the article however:
In 2014, the group released a report commissioned from Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI) showing that a carbon tax with dividend sharing model, starting at $10 per ton of carbon dioxide and increasing by $10 per ton each year, would reduce carbon dioxide emissions 50 percent below 1990 levels in 20 years. Moreover, the economic stimulus generated by the dividend sharing would, over the same period of time, add 2.8 million jobs to the American economy, compared with a business-as-usual scenario.
So the politicians hired some economists specializing in public policy consulting to justify the vote buying scheme!
