Watch as the self-important press whine and cry themselves into irrelevance
In a must watch 16 minutes of complete idiocy, watch the mainstream press "journalists" whine and cry that they did not get a seat on Mr. Tillerson's plane to Japan. Mr. Tillerson's flight, because of the long haul nature of flying from the US to Japan across the pacific, was unable to host the numerous mainstream "journalist" outlets that wanted access to the Department of State. The liberal press berated and harassed Department of State spokesman Mark Toner for a solid 16 minutes, wasting taxpayer time on something only the mainstream media press cares about.
The press of course declined to mention who the single seat available went to, only referring to it as a "conservative outlet" and a "website". According to the State Department’s Toner, the agency wanted to “take a journalist from an outlet that doesn’t normally travel with the Secretary of State, as part of an effort to include a broader representation of US media.” We did a quick search and found out it was Erin McPike of the Independant Journal Review.
Ms. McPike has previously held positions at CNN, NBC News, National Journal, and RealClearPolitics, so she seems qualified enough. She recently wrote an article praising Mr. Tillerson. In a twist of Irony the article is titled "Tillerson Treads Lightly in Public but Blows up Trump's Phone"
The State Department Correspondents Association responded by saying that that it was “disappointed” Tillerson chose to travel to Asia “without a full contingent of the diplomatic press corps or even a pool reporter.” According to the association, several reporters “have traveled commercially to meet Secretary Tillerson on the ground in Asia.”
The mainstream media and self important journalists it prunes, have clearly just shown us another clear example of why they have become so irrelevant in today's world:
- The people don't care about that airplane seat;
- Citizens actually like the fact that the seat went to an outlet not part of the mainstream media talking heads and to a less known outlet;
- Citizens are sick and tired of the mainstream media drivel;
- Citizens do not want to pay for the mainstream media's airplane seats;
- Citizens are tired of the mainstream media wasting government time and citizens' time with moronic self serving questions.
We can only hope the Department of State soon moves to a new type of press conference where questions come in from the people, and not the mainstream media.
We urge readers to turn off mainstream media, and see it for what it is which is propaganda.
